Born and brought up in Assam and being an ardent pancham 'bhakt' (fondly call him loRD), had first hand Guitar lessons under the baton of Subasish Dey (the then Lead Guitarist of a famous North Eastern desi band 'The Rising') in 1994-95 and then improvised under the able guidance of Saahid Anwar (Lead & Bass guitarist of famous vocalists Milan Singh and Phalguni Pathak).
With a bent of mind towards melody, have been heavily influenced by musicians like Ramesh Iyer, Tony Vazz, Bhanu Gupta, Victor Wooten and composers like S D Burman, Madan Mohan, Jagjit Singh.

Makesh Rao
Percussionist

Makesh Rao has been one of the main percussionists for EasternWinds since its inception. He plays the Dholak and the Electronic Drum Pad and occasionally sings too. He enjoys classical and Indian film music and is a great fan of Kishore Kumar and RD Burman.

Kaumudee Torsekar
Vocalist

Kaumudee Torsekar was born in Bombay and raised there till 12 years of age. Her family moved to Toronto, Canada where she learned Hindustani Classical Vocal from Shri Narendra Datar for nearly 7 years and won first prize in a regional singing competition. After performing for several years in local music bands, she then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. She currently sings with Jigary and posts musical recordings on her audioblog. Her biggest musical influences are Asha Bhosle, RD Burman & Hridaynath Mangeshkar and she loves the poetry and other artistic works of Gulzar.

Sachin Srivastava
Vocalist

Sachin is the Lead Vocal and Chorus Singer for Jigary. He Comes from a family with full of musical talent. Started enjoying and singing Hindi songs (typically Kishore Kumar songs), when he was very young from his uncle who is a very popular singer in Northern UP, India. He loves Music so much would any day give-up his high-tech career, if there is any opportunity.
Besides music, he also loves to travel, read and talk on anything fun! He graduated from BHU, India with a Master's degree in Computer Science, currently working as a System Analyst at Cisco, San Jose campus. He is happily married and has a 2 year old lovely daughter.
